Broccoli Salad

This is a classic, delicious broccoli salad—fresh and a little sweet with a tangy dressing.

🥗 Broccoli Salad

  • 4 cups chopped broccoli pieces
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 ½ tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 (4 oz) bag hormel real crumbled bacon bits (or your brand of choice)
  • ⅓ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ⅓ cup diced red (purple) onion
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ cup half-n-half or milk (to drizzle at the end)

💡 Tips to customize:

  • crisp bacon bits in microwave on paper towel for 1 minute and let cool
  • If you like it more tangy, add another ½ tablespoon vinegar
  • If you prefer it less sweet, reduce sugar to 1–1½ tablespoons
  • For a creamier salad, add more mayo

Optional add-ins (if you’re using them):

  • Sunflower seeds, almond slivers, raisins, or dried cranberries

In a large measuring cup or small bowl add the mayo, sugar, apple cider vinegar and salt, stir the dressing until smooth, toss with your broccoli, add the cheese, onions, and bacon, toss again, drizzle ¼ cup half-n-half or milk over the top-do not stir (to keep salad from drying out); let salad chill about 30–60 minutes—it really helps the flavor come together.
